Roger Tim Zielke, 73, passed away February 26, 2016 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming. Tim was born December 19, 1942 to Arthur and Vera (Nicholson) Zielke in Saint Francis, KS. He graduated from Sherman Community High School in Goodland, Kansas with the class of 1959, and also graduated from Fort Hays Kansas State College in Hays, Kansas.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on the family farm. He had a passion for old cars and making them run. One of his challenges was raising Mink.
On June 14, 1969, he and Lenna Loyce Woods were married at the First United Methodist Church in Lebanon, KS. After receiving his degree in Agriculture Business he worked for the BLM in Montrose, CO. He was in range management and transferred with the government to Casper, WY. In the 1980's, he became employed by the Bureau of Reclamation, where he worked in procurement.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother Ted, and nephew Jeff.
Surviving family includes his wife, sister-in-law Phyllis Zielke of Goodland Kansas; sister-in-law Phyllis Holtman and her husband Art of Hickory Corners, Michigan.
A visitation will be held from 4pm until 7pm, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel.
A graveside service will be 2:00pm, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Goodland Cemetery in Goodland, Kansas.
