Rodney Scott, age 77, of Casper, passed away January 22, 2017 at Central Wyoming Hospice. Rodney was born April 4, 1939 in Douglas to John and Bernice (Reeves) Scott.
Rodney attended and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1957. From 1961 to 1963 Rodney was a member of the United States Army, serving in Ft. Hood, Texas. Shortly after being discharged from the Army, Rodney met and married his wife, Helen Ullery on April 25, 1964 in Casper. In 1965 he decided to return to college and graduated from Eastern Montana College in Billings, Montana with a degree in education and a minor in accounting. He taught high school business classes in Cody, Wyoming for the following 3 years. After teaching, he spent the next two years employed on the Ullery family ranch in Kaycee. He and his family then returned to Casper, where he was employed as an Accountant with True Ranches for more than 30 years before retiring in 2012.
Rodney enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time in the mountains and with his grandchildren. He was a stock market enthusiast and coin collector.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen M. (Ullery) Scott; son, John Scott of Lakewood Colorado; daughter, Nancy (Mike) Concepcion and grandchildren, Alexis and Antonio Concepcion of Casper; sisters, Elizabeth Gould of Powell, Mary Peoples, Catherine Snyder, and Jerry Esmaiel of Casper, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, January 27, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel.
