A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Rodger Dale Stiles, 54. Rodger died at his home on December 19, 2011 of natural causes. Rodger was born on March 1, 1957 in Laramie, Wyoming to Dale and Marilyn (O'Donnell) Stiles.
Rodger had a passion for music. Many years of his life were spent on the road with his band mates, working hard as their sound man to make them sound as good as possible when they went on stage each evening. An avid fisherman, Rodger frequented Montana's Ft. Peck and North Dakota's Sakakawea lakes in pursuit of walleye. He particularly enjoyed competing in the Montana Governor's Cup as well as promoting the event and educating kids on fishing and water safety. He was a member of the Sidney Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited.
Rodger was an ardent pool player, participating in pool leagues in Montana and Wyoming. His team proudly held the Sidney Pool League Championship title for the following years: 1993-1994, 1994-1995, 1995-1996, and 1997-1998. Other enthusiasms included gardening, rodeo, and playing with his dogs.
His interests were often reflected in career choices as a salesman in electronics and the boat and recreational vehicle industries.
Rodger is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Marilyn Stiles.
He is survived by his daughters, Tera Stiles (Keith) and Bethany Honstead (Mike); Stepchildren, Amanda Rambur and husband Mike, Chelsey Mordhorst and husband Jordan, and Jason Prevost. Grandchildren; Kody, Abigail, Skylar, Kinsley, Lila, Alyssa, Peyton, Sage, Kaylee and Jayden. Sister Marilee and husband Craig Storm, Long time companion, Dena Prevost. Honorary Pallbearers are as follows: Tyler Amunrud, John Getchell, Kenny Phillips, Lance Hentges, Tom Baxter, Ed Sifuentes, Tom Kohl, Donnie Petty, Scott Sheehan, Dan Paladichuck, Eddie Mindt.
Cremation has taken place. Donations may be made in Rodger's name directly to the Casper Humane Society, 849 East E Street, Casper, Wyoming 82601.
