Robin Hazel Kifer, 52, of Casper, Wyoming passed away July 4th, 2010 after a long battle with lung cancer.
Robin was born January 16th, 1958 in Orofino, Idaho, the daughter of Vemon and Twila Olin.
Most of her loved ones know her as Susie which her family has called her since childhood. Robin grew up in Idaho and continued to visit her family in Idaho every year of her life. Robin was married to Bud Kifer in 1982, they had one daughter, Jenny and she inherited two step sons, Andy and Kevin. Robin and Bud owned and operated several different logging operations in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming until they were divorced in 1991. Robin had been around logging for a large portion of her life, even her dad was a logger in Idaho for many years. The type of logging her dad did is demonstrated in the movie" Charlie the Lonesome Cougar" in which he played in. Her mom was a home maker. Both of her parents preceded her in death, her mom died in 1972 and her dad died in 1982. She was also preceded in death by one brother, John in 1967.
Robin enjoyed life and she had many hobbies. She loved the mountains, camping, and enjoying nature. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and going on walks in the mountains or along a river. She loved to find beaches by rivers and lakes where she could enjoy the water and sunshine. Robin loved to sew and work on quilts. Robin enjoyed decorating for every holiday and had a unique way of decorating her home with pieces of nature including wildlife such as bears and moose. She also used birdhouses and birds which she loved.
Robin enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandkids very much. She was the grandma that lived for her grandkids and spoiled them very much. She was able to show and teach them many things about nature and life before she passed away.
Survivors include her daughter Jenny and son in law Mike Legerski, two grandchildren, Kaylee Clark and Drew Legerski of Casper, Wyoming. Four brothers, Jim, Terry, Mike and her Twin Brother Randy (Butch). Two sisters, Christine and Patty. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends many living in the Couer De'Lane and Orofino, Idaho area. Most of her friends in the last few years live in Casper Wyoming and she also had many friends in Saratoga, Wyoming.
Robin had a unique personality and always had a smile on her face. She was a hard worker, great friend, good sister, wonderful mom, and unforgettable grandma. She left a lasting impression on everyone she knew. She will be missed very much.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Casper, Wyoming on Saturday July lOth at 1211 Donegal at 2pm, and in Orofino, Idaho on Thursday July 15th• A Headstone is planned to be placed and part of her ashes scatted on her mothers grave in the Orofino cemetery during service. Services under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home.
I will never forget my mom, she was my best friend and I love her very much. May she watch over me from the stars now.
