Robert William Springer "RW" "Bob" died peacefully on March 5, 2018 in Casper, Wyoming at the age of 92.
Bob was born on August 8, 1925 in Laramie, Wyoming to Luther and Billie Springer. He received an honorary diploma from Laramie High School and also attended University of Wyoming. He entered the Navy November 10, 1943 and served on the USS San Carlos, AVP seaplane tender during World War II. After moving to Casper, WY he became a plumber/pipefitter and retired from the union. He married E. Judith Pieke on January 8, 1955. He was a man of strong convictions who loved his native state with its beauty and many recreational opportunities and his family. He was a member of the NRA, American Legion and a life member of VFW. His hobbies included collecting rocks, stamps, coins and antique inkbottles.
Bob is survived by his daughter Suzanne (Springer) Sandoval of Casper, Wyoming and two grandchildren Alissa Sandoval and Evan Sandoval.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, E. Judith Springer, his mom, stepdad, Col L.E. Butler and dad.
A rosary is scheduled for Thursday, March 8 at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, March 9 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima with a reception to follow directly after at the church. Military funeral honors will be held at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
