Robert "Bob" Bower passed peacefully on April 27th at Poplar Living Center in Casper at the age of 78. Bob was born December 23, 1933 in Sargent, Nebraska to Joe and Mary Bower. He was raised in Burwell and returned after serving in the Army from 1956 to 1958. He lived there until he and his family made Casper their home in 1979. Bob was a dependable and loyal employee of MacIntosh Construction until his retirement. He loved gardening, fishing, camping, and building anything with his hands. He instilled in his family the value of hard work and humor, and will be greatly missed by those close to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bernerd and a son Bobby.
He is survived by his children Bud (Jeanette) of Arcadia, NE, Connie Freeman of Cedaredge, CO, Sue (Mike) McCrary of Casper, Butch (Peggysue) of Casper, Joe (Michelle) of Kearney, NE, Rob (Dana) of Casper, Rick (Jennifer) of Muscatine, IA, Nicole (Grant) of Casper, Mike (Cynthia) of Casper, and Randy (Jennie) of Casper, his sisters Ilene and Jean of Nebraska, twenty-one grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday May 2nd at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery, with a reception following at the VFW, 1800 Bryan Stock Trail. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mr. Bower's name to the Natrona County United Veterans Council P.O. Box 735, Evansville, WY 82636.
