ROBERT G. MOORE
Private family services will be held for Robert G. Moore, 84, who passed away on March 28, 2006 at Wyoming Medical Center. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Louise; his son David Moore and wife Rita of Dillon, Montana; his daughter Nancy Sybrant and husband Arnie of Casper; three grandchildren: Sara, Shelley and Michael Sybrant and by 3 nephews and a niece.
He was born September 20, 1921 in Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania to Nellie G. and Paul L. Moore. He is a veteran of World War II having served as a Pharmacist Mate in the US Navy. He saw action in the invasions of North Africa, Sicily, and Normandy. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained on D-Day. Moore was also awarded the Croix de Guerre for exceptional service in the liberation of France. He received the World War II Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
Robert Moore was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1945. He returned to Sandy Lake, PA where he lived and worked until 1962. His love of the West prompted Moore and his family to relocate to Casper, Wyoming in 1962 where he worked various jobs until his early retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family. Robert Moore will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
