Robert C. Lovelace

January 17, 1955 — December 12, 2017

Bob Lovelace is no longer homesick for heaven. He fell into the loving arms of his savior, Dec 12, 2017. He was surrounded by his family and dear friends. We rejoice there is no more suffering for you Bob and you have a new body in Christ. You will be remembered for your intense love and pride you felt for us and your love of your cats and dog who frankly, sometimes got more attention than we did, your epic courage in the face of adversity, your quiet unwavering faith, and those funny annoying things you did that made us roll our eyes. Bob, you will also be remembered for being a man's man and the legendary life you lived.

Bob was born January 17,1955 in Ventura California. He spent his elementary years in Trinidad Tobago. He had a pet alligator named Humphrey. He kept Humphrey until the alligator grew big enough to eat him.

Bob was a successful Directional Driller for many years. In both oil and geothermal fields. He traveled extensively from Japan, Iceland, Philippines and such exotic locations as Ventura and Bakersfield California. He said he took his life in his hands every time he jumped from the crew helicopter onto the rig landing pad in the violent North Sea. He was once stranded on a rig during a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, having missed the last evacuation boat. He drilled record depth oil wells off the coast of California. He was known to extinguish a few blow outs in Texas and Louisiana.

His younger years were exempt from fear and common sense. He jumped from perfectly good airplanes. He was a jump master and successfully taught many students the thrill of plummeting towards earth clinging to what equaled a sheet and back up pillow case.

He loved to scuba dive except the time he was stalked by sharks off the coast of California. He took shelter, hidden by a thick grove of seaweed. But, we are certain the sharks were intimidated by him and were scared off.

He was a Rugby Prop and Hooker for the Huntington Beach Unicorns. He traveled to Wales and England. He loved Rugby but his favorite activity was post game celebrations such as naked Zulu's around the bar. Please don't ask. Clearly, a sacred right for victors of the match. He thought the NFL was a dance lesson compared to the real men of Rugby.

He also raced blown alcohol hydro plane boats and a K boat. Each topped speeds of 110+ mph. These activities involved a parachute to slow the boat down. By this time, he married the love of his life, Carol. She received sentimental Christmas gifts such as drums of ethanol, boat motor parts, a fire suit and her name listed as "Owner" on the boat.

Equal to his courage was his deep love for Carol, his wife of 37 years. His children Bill, Travis, Kate, his daughter in law Chelsea, granddaughter Tristan Olivia and his sister Joanie and her family. All were the very beat of his heart. He was intensely proud of the two fine extraordinary men he raised and his exquisite and confident daughter Kate. Bob was a proud Marine Dad.

He loved any cat or dog but especially his own. Any donations to the Casper Humane Society would be deeply appreciated.

Every day we breathe, we will miss you Bob. Every day we breathe we will love, cherish and remember you. Just as you asked, we will have a party at your favorite place, Paint Rock Lake in the Big Horns this summer. Go climb high on that mountain Bob. We love you.
