Robert G. "Bob" Hool, 90 of Casper, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper. He was born May 2, 1925 to Merrill H. and Catherine M. (Donahue) Hool in Casper, Wyoming. Robert graduated from NCHS in 1944 and was a ROTC member while attending high school.
In August of 1944, Robert was drafted into the Army Air Force, 93rd Bombardment Group, as an Aerial Photographer Lab and Camera Technician with the bomber fighter squadron. Robert was stationed at the U.S. Air Base in Casper from 1942 through 1944 and he was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Corporal.
Robert was married to Anne C. (Phillips) Hool on May 25, 1957 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and together they had two children, Tim and Kara.
After being discharged in 1946 he worked as a machinist at Texaco Refinery until it shut down in 1982. He then when on to work for Natrona County Parks until his retirement in 1995. He particularly enjoyed his time spent with the 1995 Casper High School Cross Country Ski Team.
Robert was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church as well as a member of the Casper Water Ski Club since 1960 holding office as a board member. He loved to dance. His love to work with his hands resulted in building his own home.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John M. Hool and grandson, Justin Patterson.
Robert is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Timothy Hool and Kara (Todd Pierce) Patterson; grandchildren, Bailey Patterson, Tatiana Hool, Trace Pierce and Haley Pierce; brother, Thomas J. Hool; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, February 12, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Casper. Interment will follow at Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bob's name to Central Wyoming Hospice, St. Anthony's Tri Parish School or the Casper Humane Society.
