Robert "Bobby" Floyd Dice
October 24, 1950 – May 26, 2019
The legendary Robert "Bobby" Floyd Dice passed away on May 26, 2019 at the much too young age of 68. However, he made the most of his time in this world and lived a life full of laughter, adventure, and occasional mischief.
Bobby raised seven children with Sandy, the love of his life for 40 years. Much like the epoxy that he used on everything, Bobby was the glue that held his family together. He taught his children many lessons about working hard, standing up for what's right, and being authentic. His fondness for music, the outdoors, Jeeps, and certain profane phrases left an everlasting impression on the generations after him.
As a natural athlete and skilled contender, Bobby exceled in all of his endeavors which included archery, weight lifting, trials riding, canoeing, and drag racing. He did these things because of the joy they brought him, never for the glory. Archery was his most beloved pastime and he took great pride in teaching his kids, grandkids, or anyone else how to shoot a bow (without training wheels, of course). A good portion of his life was spent in nature hunting, fishing, camping, and wandering the ridge shooting his bow with his dogs by his side. Basically, Bobby could have written a book on the art of manliness.
Ice cream was Bobby's favorite food and he could be found on the couch finishing off a quart on any given night. Despite his dietary choices, Bobby had a statuesque physique that both intimidated and inspired. If he was forced to wear a shirt, camouflage tees were his favorite along with 501 Levi's and uncommon hats.
Bobby believed strongly in bonds with family and friends and was always there for the people he loved. He found humor in every situation; consider yourself lucky if you were in his company when he laughed so hard, he was in tears. In remembrance of Bobby, please take time to enjoy nature, shoot a bow, tell a joke (inappropriate or otherwise), eat copious amounts of ice cream, or bench press over twice your body weight.
Bobby will be forever missed and is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Sheila Dice, Timothy Dice (Jennifer), Keith Dulaney (Samantha), Samuel Dice (Martha), Andrea Laws (Darce), Starla Alexander (Kevin), and Alexis Dice; 13 grandchildren; brother, Darrell; uncle, Jerry; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Patty and his brother, Rodney.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at The Hangar in Bar Nunn, WY.
Because of his love for the sport, memorial donations can be made to the Lost Arrow Archers club in Bobby's name.
