CASPER -- Funeral services for Robert Raymond Colley, at 1 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Wolf Creek.
Following the funeral there will be an AA memorial meeting at the 12 24 Club.
He died on June 5, 2008, after a long and valiant fight against chronic lung disease.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1925, to Charles Raymond and Grace (Ellis) Colley.
At the time of his birth the family ran the country store in Arminto.
The family moved to Basin, to be closer to relatives.
He attended Basin Elementary School and moved to Casper in 1939.
On the day after Pearl Harbor, he quit school to enlist. Upon his return from WW II, he completed his GED.
From 1947 through 1959, he operated Colley Refrigeration.
He moved to California and drove truck until his retirement in 1987.
He married Ester Elizabeth Kruse in Sept. 1947. Their marriage lasted until her death in 1958. They had one daughter Roberta Rae.
In 1959, he married Mary Lou Fisher Day who had two daughters, Nancy and Jackie. They later divorced.
In 1966, he married Elsie Tuttle in Las Vegas, Nev. They had one son, Robert Harry and later divorced.
On July 24, 1981, he and Patricia McEneaney married in Orange, Calif.
On Jan. 1, 1967, he started a 42 year quest of happy, joyous sobriety.
After retirement he returned to Casper.
He was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis.
The Wyoming Education Association honored him and the Golden K with a Friends Of Education award.
He loved his pets.
He supported Seton House.
He was a member of the Old Time Fiddlers Club.
He enjoyed writing letters to the editor of the Casper Star Tribune.
He and his wife traveled through 50 states and four continents.
He is survived by his wife, Pat McEneaney-Colley; former wife, Mary Lou Day; daughter, Jackie Tighe; and a son-in-law, all of Casper; six grandchildren; a great grandson; sisters, Ruth and Shirley Aagard of Burlington, Sally Sublett Billitere and Joe of Long Beach, Calif., Mary Jane McNeal of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Vicki Dieckman of Etna; brothers, David McNeal of Florida, and Dennis McNeal of Texas, and many nieces and nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Harry Colley, daughters, Nancy Annette Doyle, Roberta Rae Colley, his parents, brothers, Richard Colley, James and Pat McNeal, and sister, Francis Martin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Seton House, Humane Society or to 12 24 Club, Inc.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
