Rita Rae Hubbard, 62, of Casper and formerly of Lance Creek, WY and Dayton, WY.
On Feb. 5, 1949, God gave this world an angel. She was named Rita Rae Moore. Born to Jennette Briscoe-Moore and John Moore Jr. in Lusk, WY. Rita graduated from Lusk High School in 1967 and married her high school sweetheart Paul Edmund Hubbard on Dec. 28, 1967. Rita gave birth to a daughter, Lacy, May 6, 1969 while Paul served his country in Vietnam. On July 23, 1971 with Paul safe at home she gave birth to a second child, Lonna.
On Feb. 5, 2011 the same day God gave her, he took his angel back. Rita passed away peacefully in her sleep from a rare illness.
At the time of her death, Rita was employed by the Wyoming Medial Center.Rita was a member of the Dayton Fire and Rescue and the town council, between 1979 and 1989, the VFW Auxillary Post 991 in Casper, WY, and the Sheridan 911 County Ambulance Board. As a young woman she was the Indian Maiden in the Pageant of the Raw Hide in Lusk, WY.
Survivors include her husband, Paul, daughters, Lacy Cattelan (Lance) and Lonna Harvard (Jason), her mother, Jennette Farrington, Step-father, Keith Farrington, mother-in –law, Lily Hubbard, grandchildren, Kimberly and John Tyler Cattelan, Britney and Kelsey Harvard, a brother, Randy Moore (Hertha), a sister, Yodi Miles (John), numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, maternal grandparents and her paternal grandparents.
Memorial services will be Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, 2:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home with Chaplain Ellis Kaster officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton Volunteer Fire and Rescue, C/O , The City of Dayton, P.O. Box 285, Dayton, WY 82836.
