Rick Pierce

December 14, 1947 — May 22, 2024

It is with great sadness, the family of Rick Pierce, 76, announce his passing on May 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with lung disease. Rick was surrounded by his family during his last days.

Ricky Roy was born December 14, 1947 in Hot Springs, South Dakota to Roy “Sam” and Alice Pierce. He served in the National Guard for six years, serving in both South Dakota and Wyoming.

On January 5, 1968, Rick married Jeanette C. Lewis, the love of his life. They have been married for 56 years. Rick and Jeanette shared their life and love with Tonya Rae (Shawn) Dickeson of Mt. Juliet TN and Tracy Lynn (Brad) Moller of Casper WY and their four grandchildren, Lane, Logan, Jaycee and Morgan.

Rick was an auto parts salesman for the majority of his working career, with over 30 of those years being at NAPA Auto. Rick also worked at the Ford Wyoming Center (Event Center) for more than 25 years where he enjoyed visiting with everyone. If you attended events there, you always saw Rick with a smile on his face!

Family and friends describe Rick as meticulous and particular, a man who liked routine. His lawn brought him much pride and he would mow it at least three times a week during the peak growing season, being sure to keep his pattern precise. He enjoyed wood working and working on his car. His tools were always perfectly placed and organized in his shop.

They also describe Rick as loving. His wife was the love of his life, his girls such a source of pride and his grandkids were the apple of his eye. HIS dogs meant the world to him and he didn’t mind his cats either. Rick was an avid member of the Oil Capital Car Club and was very proud of his 1951 Ford Victoria which won him numerous trophies and awards.

Rick was preceded in death by his grandson, Lane Dickeson, brother, Gary Lee Pierce and his parents, Roy “Sam” and Alice Pierce.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, his daughters and their families , Tonya, Shawn and Jaycee Dickeson and Tracy, Brad, Logan and Morgan Moller. He is also survived by his brother Sam (Robin) Pierce and sister, Barb (Doug) Rosane, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to encourage everyone to drive their classic or hot rod cars to Rick’s service which will be held Wednesday, May 29th at 1pm Highland Park Church with a reception to follow at the church.
