He moved to Casper from Kemmerer, Wyoming with his family in 1969. Graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1972 and attended Casper College in 1973 to be a mechanic. He worked various jobs while growing up including working for his father at the Henning Hotel and as a part time gas station mechanic. In the fall of 1979 he found his true calling – welding. He went to work for Scott Equipment and Manufacturing now known has JW Measurement Company, building oil and gas production units. He was employed with them for 32 years until he became ill and retired in January of this year.
He loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and hunter, Sneaky Sam (Elk), Rambunctious Ralph (antelope), and Fearless Fred (deer), are among the large collection. He loved to refer to himself as an Elk-a-Holic. He went camping in his 16" Sioux teepee that he built himself. He enjoyed fishing in his belly boat, waddling like a duck backwards. If he couldn't fish or hunt he would draw or scroll saw plaques, tie flies, or build wood boxes. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, working in the flower gardens and four wheeling.
Last but not least he was an avid "TALKER" and could talk your ear off, you could not get a word in edgewise and sometimes all you wanted to say was "Breathe".
His laughter and smile, eagerness to do any job, big or small, will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.
