Richard "Wyobiker" E. Sanders, age 59, died in Fremont County on November 28, 2010. The cause was a weather related one vehicle roll-over near Moneta.
Born October 7, 1951 in Lovell, Wyoming, he lived in many cities and towns throughout his life but most recently held a residence in Bar Nunn and worked for 25 years for the Wyoming Department of Transportation until his death. Prior to working for the State of Wyoming, Rick was one of the first EMT's in the State and ran an ambulance service in Wheatland, Wyoming before moving back to Basin where his dad and one of his sisters lived. Rick met his wife, Brenda, eight years ago and they were married on June 26, 2004. He commuted back and forth for over 8 years from Basin, where he worked, and Bar Nunn where they made their home. Rick was an avid Harley rider and taught Brenda to ride with him. He loved the mountains and all that Wyoming had to offer. He was known for his jovial Santa impersonations and his Shrek-like shyness. He also was a graduate from Barnum and Bailey Clown College and learned to make everyone laugh. Rick had the biggest heart of all and was always caring for everyone else.
