Richard Alan Reeves of Casper, passed away on March 22nd, 2024 at the age of 72. Richard was born in Brownfield, TX on January 19th, 1952, to Al & Patsy Reeves. He was the eldest of 4 children. The family moved to Casper in 1968, and he graduated from Natrona County High School in 1970. He served in the US Army from 1972 to 1975, and enjoyed sharing memories about his time stationed in Berlin, Germany.
After his time in the service he worked as a wildland firefighter for the Bureau of Land Management, where he met his wife, Janene. He then began a career as a salesman for Hughes Tool Company, which moved him around the western states for several years. It was during this time they had their two children, and eventually settled back in Casper.
The oil bust of '86 led him to a position managing Big Brothers, Big Sisters Bingo where he made many friends. He started working at the City of Casper Parks Dept. in 1996 where he retired in 2015. Richard was well loved by many and known for his quirky sense of humor. He was a notorious prankster and loved to tell tall tales. His family always said "he never met a stranger", and would often joke that a short errand would take 10 times longer because he would constantly be stopping to chat.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janene; children, Justin Reeves, Jennifer Eastin (Josh), & Alaina Binfet (Justin); siblings, Steven Reeves (Chenoa), Kathy Sehorn (Mike), Wesley Reeves; & numerous cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, & in-laws.
He is sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Wyoming Dementia Care would be greatly appreciated.
