He died at the Wyoming Medical Center on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006.

He was born on May 7, 1940, in Hollywood, Calif., to Richard and Carrie (Dragna) Carno.

Known as Richard, dad, papa and grandpa, he was married to his beloved wife Julie for 10 years and they were together for 24 years. He was a good provider to his family.

He was an avid woodworker and loved cooking, camping, fishing and being around children.

Although he was in the Air Force for only four years, he was very proud of his service to his country. He loved to argue politics and was proud to be an American. Everyone meeting him agreed that he was quite a character. He was the strongest man his family knew and he will be greatly missed by all who met him.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mary Cay Albert and her husband of Visalia, Calif., Laura Carno and her husband of Monument, Colo., and Dawn Bray and her husband of Casper; three sons, Gary Turnquist of Odgen, Utah, Matthew Archibald of Sacramento, Calif., and David Archibald in the U.S. Army; a sister, Terri Anderson and her husband of Henderson, Nev.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Richard C. Carno.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
