Reuben Maki
92, of Casper, WY passed away September 19, 2015 at Wyoming Medical Center
Reuben was born the son of Hilda and Alex Maki in Casper on September 16, 1923. He attended Natrona County High School.
On August 23, 1941, Reuben married Molly Washenfelder in Thermopolis.
He was employed by the Casper Fire Department, completed 20 years of service and retired at the rank of Captain. Reuben was appointed District Fire Marshall, Truckee Fire District in the Lake Tahoe Basin area of California.
He was a member of the California Rural Fire Chiefs Association, Tahoe Basin Chiefs Association and Tahoe Basin Fire Prevention Officers Association.
Reuben was a licensed building contractor for the City of Casper and a member of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club. He is also the former President of Ponderosa Country Club.
Survivors include children, Judy Ann Conner of Lake Jackson, Texas; Barbara Tolman of Bar Nunn; and Marianne Sommer of Parker, Colorado and granddaughters, Monica, Cortnie and Britanny. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elmer; sister, Aili Freel and wife, Molly, of 71 years.
