Raymond C. Jones of Casper, WY died June 25, 2009 in Wyoming Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. He was 75 years old. He was born to Percy and Bernice Jones on April 6, 1934. He was raised on the family ranch in Casper, WY. After graduating from Natrona County High School he served in the Korean War. He returned to Casper after the war and was employed at the Texaco Refinery. He later was employed as a full-time mechanic for the Wyoming National Guard. He retired from the National Guard in 1994.
He was a Lifetime Member of the Elks Club. He was a founder and a retired volunteer firefighter from Evansville Volunteer Fire Department. He was the Civil Defense Coordinator and Councilman for the Town of Evansville. He was a member of the Casper Whirlwinds RV club in which he served as Wagon master. He was a member of the Natrona County Pioneer Association.
He is survived by his loving wife Laurine of Casper, WY. Three sons, Charles Jones of Jacksonville, FL, Brent Ellard of Riddle, OR, and Richard L. Jones, M.D. of Riverton, WY, and one daughter Debbie Spiva of Casper, WY. He had six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also one niece, Laura Tucker of Evansville.
He enjoyed spending winters at their home in Yuma, AZ and summers working at his ranch in Casper, WY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Connie Barto and Leota Sealock.
His services will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at l0am at Newcomer Funeral Home in Casper, WY. Memorials to Hospice axe appreciated.
