Ralph "Andy" Anderson passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at Garden Square Assisted Living surrounded by his children, he had a date with a gal he knew. He was born on November 19, 1930 in Grand Rapid, Montana. He was the second child born out of four to Rupert and Hattie Anderson. Ralph grew up in Casper and attended the local schools. He played football for the Natrona County Mustangs and then soon after enlisted into the Army during the Korean War.
Before he could serve on active duty over seas, his father Rupert took ill and died, leaving Hattie with two young children and no income to support the family. Ralph was honorably discharged in 1953 and returned home to take care of this mother and younger siblings.
He completed his training and certification for the Casper Fire Department and proudly served his community for 25 years. He was famous for his cooking talents at the firehouse. After retiring from the fire department he briefly worked for Little America and then became employed at True Drilling Company for 30 years.
He took care of his wife Angie for 15 years until her death in 2009.
He enjoyed woodworking, cooking, and time spent doing yard work. Andy never met a stranger and always had a smile. He will be greatly missed by his children whom survive him, Richard (Heather) Anderson of Ft. Collins, CO and Jacquie Anderson of Casper; grandchildren, Taylor Anderson, Keanan Anderson, and Quinn Anderson; sisters, Mary Lou Larson and Alice (Jerry) Whitaker; brother, Glenn Anderson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents;and his loving wife of 41 years, Angie Anderson.
A memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 24, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jimmy Dean officiating and the Bell Ceremony being performed by the Casper Fire Department Honor Guard.
Inurnment will take place at Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery at a later date.
