Quentin D. Elliott, of Glenrock, passed away peacefully in his home on February 24, 2024, with his wife by his side. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 1st at Newcomers, located at 710 E 2nd Street, Casper, WY.
Quentin was born on March 6, 1940 in Hardisty, Oklahoma. He and his family then moved to Canyon City, Colorado where he graduated high school and earned the honor of middle guard on the defensive all-star football team. After graduation, Quentin worked the farm fields in Kansas and shortly thereafter, joined the Navy. Being born with a wrench in his hand, there was no doubt that the Navy would put Quentin in charge of being a diesel mechanic on the naval ships.
After his service in the Navy, Quentin married the love of his wife, Glenda. Together they lived in Wyoming, where Quentin began working in the mines.
He had an eye for horses, knowing bloodlines, breeding and confirmation, which led to his success in horse racing, chariot racing and showing. He greatly enjoyed racing stock cars, working on engines, watching rodeo and Sunday donuts with his family.
He is survived by, his wife of 59 years, Glenda; 3 sons, John, Greg and Todd; daughter, Lisa; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. Sisters, Elnora Humphrey and Vivian Helton of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, Eldon and Thelma Elliott; brother, Delbert Elliott; and great-granddaughter, Sydnee Hayes Neubauer.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Casper, Wyoming.
