P.R. "Bob" Spencer

May 29, 1944 — December 25, 2023

P. R. "Bob" Spencer

Our loving husband and dad Bob Spencer passed away on Christmas morning December 25, 2023. It was sudden and unexpected, however, in the end he passed with his sweetheart Jackie nearby, as always.

Bob was born in Dallas, TX on May 29, 1944, to his parents P.R. Spencer and Erline Spencer (Williams). He had 4 sisters (Patricia, Joyce, Sharon and Linda) and 1 brother (Henry "Hank") all deceased before he passed – his sister Sharon by only 2 days.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict. While enlisted in the Navy and serving out of San Francisco, CA, Bob met his lifetime wife and love Jackie. They were married in San Francisco on September 16, 1967, while he was still serving. He was then transferred to Long Beach, CA and they moved there. Upon his honorable discharge from service in 1968, they remained in the sunshine state while he completed his obligation to the Navy. In 1970 they packed up their things and made their big move to Wyoming, to be near Jackie's parents and grandparents.

Bob's son Aaron Spencer was born in 1974, and daughter Nicole Spencer was born in 1977, both in Casper, Wyoming. Bob built a wonderful family unit very removed from the challenges he suffered as a child of a struggling traveling salesman. When he was young, his family was constantly on the move. Through his life he wrestled with the impact of this type of environment and through all personal hardships he was sure to avoid this for his own children.

Bob made many friends in the Casper area over the years, through both church and work. He particularly enjoyed working at Bi-Rite where he made lifelong friends, Jerry and Darrell. He also enjoyed working for Parkers, Radio Shack and Walgreens. For the last 15 years or more Bob enjoyed going to coffee and pie with his friends, some of whom have also passed. They would frequent the Parkway, Johnny Js and Village Inn. This is where his good friend Dave dubbed him H.B. for Hollywood Bob, because he always wore his sunglasses.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Jackie, his son Aaron (wife Ginia, grandkids Simeon and Dominik), his daughter Nicole (partner Eric) and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Bob's request, there will be no services, he did not want anyone to be sad or to cry. Please think of the good times you had with him and smile, as he is in a better place. Please feel free to send a donation to Boyd Avenue Baptist Church building fund, St Jude Hospital, or any Indigenous organization as these were the charities near and dear to him.

His family wants to thank everyone who has reached out to them for all your support and love. We will miss him every day.

Arrangements are under the direction of Newcomer Casper Chapel.
