Paul V. Holzer, 64, passed away July 24, 2012 at Wyoming Medical Center.
He was born January 30, 1948 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the Eldest of five children of Vernon and Jean (Addison) Holzer. He graduated from Fennimore High School in 1966, where he met his wife Linda (Pagel) Holzer. After graduation, Paul attended University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for two years and then married Linda in October 1968. He entered the Army, where he served from 1968 – 1971, including two years overseas.
Paul and Linda had two children, Tim and Vicki and lived in Appleton, Wisconsin until 1978, before making their home in Midwest, Wyoming. He made his living as a journeyman electrician, but he spent much of his life outdoors, beginning on the Holzer family farm. Spending time with family, friends and animals, made Paul happy – even more so when he could do it outdoors – fishing, hunting and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of 43 years, of Midwest, Wyoming; his children: Timothy (Tawnya) Holzer of Casper, Wyoming; Victoria (Brian) Opalewski of Newton, Kansas; his siblings: Fred Holzer of Fennimore, Wisconsin; Sue Ashbeck of Midwest, Wyoming; Nancy Guernsey of Gillette, Wyoming; Bill Holzer of Wheatland, Wyoming and his grandchildren: Kyle and Megann Holzer of Casper, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Jean Holzer.
A cremation remembrance celebration will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Casper, Wyoming on Monday, July 30th, with a gathering of friends held from 1:00 pm to 2:30pm immediately followed by a memorial service.
In lieu of flowers you can make a donation in Paul's memory directly to the Lupus Foundation of America, the American Cancer Society, Salt Creek Emergency Services in Midwest, Wyoming, with additional memorials used to fund hunts for wounded/disabled veterans – a charity Paul appreciated.
