Paul Genetti, a respected educator and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born on May 17, 1940, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, Paul was the son of Alceste and Pietro Genetti. He graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1959 and earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master's in Education from the University of Wyoming.
Paul began his distinguished teaching career in 1965 at Natrona County High School (NCHS), where he dedicated 26 years of service. His commitment to education and his students was unwavering, evident during his 12-year tenure as the head of the social studies department. He was a beloved mentor and teacher, inspiring countless students throughout his career.
In 1967, Paul married Jan Nemer, a fellow educator at NCHS who taught home economics. Their partnership in life and education left a lasting impact on the Casper community. Jan preceded Paul in death in 1986. Also preceding Paul's death were his mother, Alceste, father, Pietro, and two brothers, Bruno and Leno.
Paul was deeply committed to his community. His service extended beyond the classroom, as he proudly served in the Wyoming National Guard in Rock Springs, Laramie, and Casper from 1963 to 1969. He was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and actively contributed to the education community as a member of the National Education Association and the Wyoming Education Association.
Paul's love for his family was profound. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. Paul's survivors include his son, David Genetti, David's wife, Kristy, and Paul's three cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Emma, and Eli. He also leaves behind his daughter, Marla Genetti, and his lifelong friend, Sue Sullenberger.
Paul Genetti will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to education, love for his family, and deep commitment to his community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
