Pat L. Johnson passed away on December 20, 2008, at home in Casper. Born September 12, 1925, in Denver, Colorado, she was the daughter of Pearl and Lew Bradley. She grew up in Denver and spent her teen years in South Gate, California. She graduated with an Associate Degree in Bacteriology from Pasadena College. While working at the Coast to Coast Ice Cream Store she met her husband, Chuck who was serving in the Air Force. She married Charles P. "Chuck" Johnson on March 30, 1944. While he served in Hawaii she worked at the conservation laboratories in Sacramento, CA.
After the war, they returned to Casper where they pioneered a farm west of Casper. Pat was a homemaker, volunteer, and church secretary for the United Methodist Church from 1969-1972. Pat and Chuck enjoyed retirement in Mesa, Arizona and Fort Collins but returned to Casper in 2001.
Pat was an active member of the Methodist Church, participating in WSCS and with Chuck in a couples' dinner group. She contributed many hours to support her children's school, sports, and 4-H activities. She was bookkeeper at Poison Spider School and volunteered in fundraising projects. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed trips to England. She had a passion for learning and it was her life's goal that all of her children should be well educated.
Survivors include her four children: Nancy Heagney of Houston, Kathleen Curtis and Philip Johnson of Casper and Janie Johnson McLeland of Fort Collins, seven granddaughters, two grandsons, two great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons. She has a nephew, Brent Bradley and his wife Linda who live in California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, her sisters and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice who helped to guide her gently home. That address is 319 South Wilson, Casper, WY 82601. A family gathering and celebration of Pat's life will be planned for April so that all of her grandchildren can attend.
