Patrick Neal Kennedy, 54, of Casper and formerly of Mills, passed away Aug. 2, 2009 at the Wyoming Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 12, 1954 in Newcastle, WY the son of Gordon and Eileen Wingert Kennedy, the first of four children. They moved to Cody, WY in Jan. 1955 and then to Mills later that year and they built a home at 515 Benton Ave. He was a graduate of NCHS in 1973. In 1979 he met the love of his life, Donna Ruth Cline and were united in marriage on October 9, 1982 and to this union three Children were born.
He joined the Mills Volunteer Fire Dept. in 1975 and then became a firefighter with the Casper Fire Dept. in 1977. He was honored as Firefighter of the Year in 1991 (Casper) and 1986 (Mills) and received honorable mention in 1985 and 1986. He retired from both Fire Departments in 1997 and then was Self employed for a year and then most recently was employed as shop mechanic for the Electric Service.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, working on his cabin and spending time with his family. He was a supporter of 4-H, Casper FFA and the WGC.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, a son Patrick A. and his girl friend Nicole Shaw, two daughters, Janel Schierkolk and her husband Jason of Casper, Megan Gearhart and her husband Jarad of Wright, WY. His parents, Gordon and Eileen Kennedy, four grandchildren. Chayse, Sky, Mollie and James. There are three sisters, Eileen Kennedy of Orlando, OK, Raeleen Montoya of Riverton, WY and Kaeleen Jones of Mills, WY. He was preceded in death his grandparents, a sister Valentine, and a grand daughter, Izabelle.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, 2:00 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Kevin Koch as celebrant. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends at the Newcomer Funeral Home on Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or The Casper Fire Dept.
