Patricia "Patsy" Brattis
Patricia 'Patsy" Brattis, age 85, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Sheppard of the Valley Care Center. Patsy was born August 15, 1924 in Casper, WY, the daughter of George T. & Mary C. (White) Shoemaker. She was one of 9 children. She attended and graduated from St. Anthony's School and NCHS. On September 24, 1948, she married the love and dance partner of her life, John Brattis. They were blessed with two daughters, Bridget & Christine.
Throughout her life she enjoyed golfing, cooking, crafting and helping many friends with her interior decorating abilities. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trip to Ireland with her sister Mike. She and John were snowbirds for many years, traveling to their home in Indio California. Most recently, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Patsy is survived by her daughters Bridget White, Chris Potter and husband Don, sister Kathleen "Mike" Shoemaker, 10 grandchildren, Sandee LaRue and husband Clayton, Mary McGuire, Gustin White, Jessin White, Patrick White, Nathan White, Melissa Keith and husband Michael, John Weathers, Sam Potter and Andrew Potter, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, seven sisters and brothers, Claire, Bea, Adeline, Hester, Tom, Kayo and Bobby.
Visitation will be held Monday November 16, 2009 from 6 PM until the 7 PM Vigil service at Newcomer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday Nov.17 at 2 PM in St Anthony's Catholic Church with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent for the St Anthony's School Foundation Building Fund.
