The community mourns the loss of Pamela (Pam) Dunn, 70, of Casper who died peacefully July 9th, 2019. Pam was born November 22nd, 1948 in Pierre, South Dakota where she attended public schools. She is survived by her husband, Floyd W. Dunn, three sons from a previous marriage; Brent Vander Pol of Phoenix, Brian Vander Pol of Oviedo FL, and Brandon Vander Pol of Casper WY, and stepson Braylen Dunn of Denver.
Family and friends are invited to memorial services at Highland Park Community Church, Monday, July 15th with a reception at the Casper Mountain Trails Center located at 9301 Casper Mountain Rd.
Pam was a dedicated, energetic philanthropist in the Casper community. For 24 consecutive years, she and Floyd organized the annual "Canines for Charity" Sled Dog Races, raising over $400 thousand dollars for charitable organizations such as the American Heart Association, Hospice, the Youth Crisis Center, the ARC, and 4H. She was also a tireless 4H volunteer; teaching dog showmanship to hundreds of local children for over 10 years.
Pam was a lover or Northern breed dogs, particularly Siberian Huskies. Her mountain kennel, "Timbermist Tracks" recorded twelve AKC breed champions. She was an avid musher (dog sledder) who never lacked for team members because her kennel could house up to 45 dogs at any given time. Rescue dogs either became members of her sled teams or were re-homed to loving families. Timbermist rescued over one-hundred huskies, malamutes, and Samoyeds over a period of thirty years.
Pam made friends easily and spent hours to make sure she could help in any situation, and in any way she could. She is so loved by her family and many friends. Pam's parting us so suddenly was unexpected. Strong-willed and focused, she was a leader, counselor and confidant. Her heart was immeasurable and touched countless lives. We love you so much Pam! Heaven is blessed with your presence now!
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, July 15, 2019 at Highland Park Community Church, 5725 Highland Drive, Casper, WY 82609.
