Funeral Services for Orville Patrick (Pat) Moon, 75, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 23rd at the Highland Park Community Church in Casper with interment at Wyoming Memorial Gardens. A visitation will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
Pat passed away Saturday, February 18th 2012 at Wyoming Medical Center.
He was born July 3, 1936 in Frontier, Wyoming to Orville and Eva (Shinskie) Moon. He was raised and educated in Frontier and Kemmerer, WY until he came to Casper to attend Casper College on a basketball scholarship. He graduated from Casper College in 1957 and married Helen Allison in 1958. Pat served in the U.S Army from 1959-1961. After returning to Casper and working at several ranches near Casper, he went to work for Petrotomics Inc. in Shirley Basin for several years. In 1974 he and Helen bought Clarks Corner Service Station at the Junction of Hwys. 220 & 487, until they sold the business in 1989. He then worked at Teton Homes until he retired.
Pat loved horses and was an avid chariot racer serving as Central Wyoming Chapter President for several years. He was also an auctioneer and antique collector and dealer.
He is survived by his daughter Valerie Meiers Babiarz and husband Joseph; Dear friend Vickie Rezak, sister Eva (Peen) Hunzie and brother Ken Moon both of Kemmerer; brother in law Gorman Findlay of Big Piney and sister in law Susan of Grand Junction, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Audrey Kosek, and Betty Findlay; brother Robert Moon and his son Rodney.
