Ora "Kathleen" Addleman, 85 of Casper, passed away Tuesday March 5, 2013.
She was born to the late William and Rosa Cheesman, Nov. 17, 1927, in Berryville, Arkansas. Kathleen lost her mother Rosa at the age of 8. Her father married Mary Brown in 1938. She and her four siblings grew up in Kansas. Kathleen was not afraid of hard work. She worked while attending High School. In 1956 Kathleen was introduced to Grant Addleman by his mother whom she worked with. The two were married October 22, 1956 in Wheatland, WY. They resided in Kimball NE., before moving to Casper in 1965 with their two daughters.
Kathleen enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing and rock hunting with Grant. She enjoyed gardening and sewing as well. After Grants death she spent summers vacationing and traveling with her sisters around the country. Kathleen began working at Memorial Hospital in Casper in 1967 and retired from Wyoming Medical center in 1988. Retirement did not slow her down, when she was not caring for her own grandchildren, she was volunteering for the Foster Grandparent Program in Casper. She volunteered in the kindergarten class of St. Anthony's school for a number of years and then the Next Generation Daycare in Casper, until her health no longer allowed it. Kathleen loved her family and spent as much time as she could with them; attending games and concerts of not only her grandchildren but also her great grandchildren. Kathleen was an active member of First Assembly of God Church in Casper, leading her loved ones to the Lord through her faithful example.
Kathleen is survived by two daughters: Connie (Gary) Ramich and Kathy Bridges both of Casper, three granddaughters: LaCosta (Steve) Dyer, Jami Lewallen, Georgia Wilson and five great-grandchildren: Christina Stufft, Donavon Stufft, Shyanne Dyer, Ashton Stufft, and William Morgan all of Casper. She is also survived by a brother: Roy (Dorothy) Cheesman of Illinois, two sisters: Maxine Williams of South Carolina and Evelyne Sharpton of Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parent's William and Rosa Cheesman, step mother Mary Cheesman, husband Grant Addleman, brother Norman Cheesman and son-in-law Daniel Bridges.
Kathleen was the rock of our family, she had a quiet way about her, but she was an incredibly strong woman. She endured many hardships in her life, but her love of the Lord never wavered. She loved Jesus and did all she could to show that love to all she met. She always had a kind word and smile to give all who crossed her path. She was an amazing mother and loving grandmother. We miss her dearly, but rejoice in the knowledge that we will see her again.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at First Assembly of God Church Friday March 15, 2013 at 4:00pm with Pastor Al Miller officiating. A potluck reception will follow the services.
