Omer Clefton Rogers, 96 of Casper, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Newcomer Family Funeral Home in Casper, WY, with Pastor Gary Hans from the Sunrise Baptist Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Garden Cemetery, Casper, WY.
Omer was born April 6, 1911 in Mena, Arkansas, the son of Barlow Rogers and Laura Jane White. He moved to Waldron, Arkansas at the age of five years where he received his education. Omer came to the Rocky Mountain region in 1933 with the Manning and Martin Drilling Company. He married Virginia Lee Owings on January 8, 1938 in Gering, NE. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2007. He was also preceded in death by a son, Eugene Rogers in 2005 and a brother, Troy Rogers.
Omer was employed by S.R. Bowen Fishing Tool, Reed Roller Bit Company, Smith International, Schultz Chevrolet, retiring from Enopco all of Casper. He was a life member of the B.P.O.E. Casper Lodge No. 1353 and the Casper Petroleum Club. He enjoyed people, playing Gin Rummy and chewing Red Man Tobacco.
Survivors include his sons, Cliff Rogers, Casper, WY and his wife, Shirley and Neil Rogers, Casper, WY; his Daughter-in-law, Dee Rogers of Worland, WY; Grandsons, Jeff Rogers of Worland, WY and his wife, Shari Duaine Rogers of Casper, WY; Granddaughters, Monet Hixson of Casper, WY and her husband, Mike Dani Rice of Tensleep, WY and her husband, Dan, Karry Diller of Casper, WY and her husband, Carl; Great-grandsons, Brady, Cory, Keller, Conner, Brian, and Dawson; and a Great-granddaughter, Brittany Hixson.
