Oliver (Pete) O'Higgins, 65 years old of Casper, WY, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016.
Pete was born on May 13, 1951 to the late Stephen and Barbara O'Higgins.
Pete, as everyone knew him, grew up in northern Illinois, including Chicago and Antioch. He attended Antioch High School and later Gateway Technical College, working as a mechanic for most of his career and entering the construction field later in life. He was currently working as a heavy equipment operator in a quarry in Wyoming.
Pete helped raise his children in Antioch, IL while spending his time enjoying the outdoors. He traveled to northern Wisconsin hunting and fishing as often as possible. He and his family traveled to Colorado multiple times a year to visit family and this is where he fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. Pete moved to Colorado in 2004 moving later to Wyoming where he met and married Penny O'Higgins. He enjoyed their time together and was looking forward to retirement and spending more time with family.
Pete's passing was unexpected; we are blessed that he did not suffer, but saddened by his sudden exit from this world. Pete is survived by his wife Penny O'Higgins, his two children, Jason O'Higgins, and Josalyn (Robert) Reed; one grandson George Reed; his sisters Stephanie (Randy) Polson and Betty Shulmeister and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his sister, Teri Fontaine.
The family will be having a private ceremony to say farewell to this wonderful man while celebrating Pete's numerous lifetime achievements.
