Olga Elduella Agans Glaze, 87 of Casper, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014.
Olga was born January 20, 1927 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois to the late Irene Avery Agans and Allen Harold Agans where they had a farm. She grew up in the Chicago area, with her mother and step father ("Papa" - Harold Richard Glaze), living in Melrose Park and Maywood, Illinois where she graduated from Proviso High School. She worked for the Veterans Administration in Chicago where she had fond memories of the veterans. Although she grew up during the depression, she always said she never knew it as she was the only child of both her parents for many years. She had great memories of fishing with her Uncle Jim at the river, where he let her take soda pop from a cooler on the porch. She was married August 28, 1951 in Texas to the late Robert E. Glaze and they began their 59 year marriage in Wichita Falls, Texas, moved to Midland, Texas, Casper, Wyoming, CutBank, Montana and back to Casper. In their later years and during their illnesses, Robert and Olga were inseparable while navigating the hospitals, the assisted living and the nursing home.
Olga leaves two half-sisters; Sue Hook and Peggy Bragg and one half-brother Hank Agans. She also leaves three children: Susan (and Kris) Anderson, Cindy (and Irvin) Moore and Scott Glaze and three grandchildren: Dan Rogers, 34, of Hawaii, Kelly Moore, 26 of Laramie and Logan Moore, 21 of Laramie.
Olga always had a special fondness for dogs, family meals, eating in Casper's restaurants and for having tea parties with her granddaughter. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Church, the Wyoming Historical Society, she was involved in the Blue Envelope Health Fund in schools in the sixties which swabbed elementary school children for strep throat. Olga volunteered with Crest Hill Elementary children for reading. She was an avid participant in Casper's Community Concerts. Olga volunteered as a pink lady volunteer at Natrona County Memorial Hospital and loved attending Geo Wives with her lifelong friends in the petroleum profession.
