Norman Dressler

November 29, 1933 — May 20, 2019

In Loving Memory of
Norman Gale "Butch" Dressler
Born November 29,1933 - Passed Away May 20, 2019

Norman was born in Midwest,Wyoming, the son of Roy Raymond Dressler and Waiva Mary (Banzhaf) Dressler. At the age of 5 he moved with his family to Casper, living in the house he eventually lived in at the time of his passing.

Norman was a CPL. in the United States Army, serving after the Korean war ended. He was head cook in Puscan and his kitchen was voted best in his division monthly for most of the year. Many Officers made it a point to eat there because of the good food. Our dad was the type that didn't like alot of recognition, but he was honored for his service the first day he was in Hospice. He received a certificate, a pin, a star from a flag that can no longer fly and a flag to hang on his door at Hospice. It was a moving ceremony! Thank you Hospice!!

After his service in the Army, he came home to Casper where he met the love of his life Sharon Leona Vanatta. They married January 25,1956. They were married 43 years until her passing in March of 1999. Through their love was born three children, Lona Marie Dressler Williams, Tobin Gale Dressler and Leona Mary Dressler who passed away at the age of 15 months.

Our dad was a hard working, trusting and giving man all of his life. He worked in construction for many years. He even helped is son and daughter-in-law remodel their house and even built a house in three months with the help of numerous family and friends for his daughter and son-in-law, which allowed him to live next door to his daughter and son-in-law for 16 years. What a wonderful 16 years!!

He is survived by his daughter Lona and her husband Weston, his son Tobin and his wife Debra. Granddaughter Dwan and her children Aissa', Logan and Lea. Granddaughter Kira and her husband Steve and their children Kya and Noah. Stepgrandson Pete, his wife Lindsay and their children Gussie and Poppy and stepgrandson Kyle,Natalie and their children Sophia and Maxwell. He is also survived by one brother Dennis (Smokey) Dressler as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharon , his daughter Leona, brothers Dunc and Terry Dressler and sisters Neoma Dressler and Jeanette Shirley.

To you Norman," Butch", Dad, not enough good things can be said about you! We were proud to call you our dad, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother and friend!! We will miss you dearly, thank you for all of the wonderful memories. May you rest in peace! We love you!!

The family would like to thank the Casper VA for the care he received through the home based care program from February- May and the Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions in the last couple of weeks of his life. You all were a blessing!
