Funeral Services for NORMA A. SALZER, 79, will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel at 710 E. 2nd Street Casper, WY 82601. She passed away on August 28, 2012 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
She was the daughter of John and Katherina Kaul, loving wife of Wilbert L. Salzer, sister of Donald R. Kaul, mother of Barbara Barden, Wanda Salzer, Susan (Vernon) Green and Lana Bogart, grandmother of Blayne and Chandler Bogart, and Jordyn and Aeryka Green.
Born on a farm in Bowdle, South Dakota, Norma relocated to Casper, Wyoming after her marriage. She thrived in her new home, becoming a successful Amway Distributor, a WMC switchboard operator, and participating in volunteer programs throughout her life. She won the 2012 Jefferson Award for over half a century of selfless volunteer work in Casper, making her community a better place to live.
Norma lived her faith, always facing adversities knowing that God was by her side. Her bravery was evident in the two occasions she faced ovarian cancer. She always found time to include other people in her life, was patient, kind and generous. She loved to read, loved nature – especially birds and gardening, and passed her appreciation of nature on to her heirs.
In lieu of flowers, Norma asked for memorial donations in her name to Interfaith of Natrona County at 300 North Center Street Casper WY 82601, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
