Norma Laurila Olliney, age 88, of Evansville, passed away December 26, 2016 at Central Wyoming Hospice. Norma was born November 12, 1928 in Ely, Minnesota to Samuel and Laurila (Heikkila) Victor.
Norma was married to Earl Olliney on December 5, 1954 in Neosha, Missouri. Norma and her family were well traveled visiting; Germany, Okinawa, Japan, and traveling all over the United States. She was an avid reader, loved knitting and enjoyed fishing. Norma was an excellent cook and a wonderful housewife. Norma had once said she would like to be remembered in the following ways, "My Smile, My Laughter, Understanding, Listener, My joy over my husband, children, grandchildren, and the greats. Also to forgive me if I hurt those I love. Remember the good times"
In addition to her parents, Norma was also preceded in death by her sister and her son; David Olliney. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 62 years, Earl, their children; Debi (Norman) Shain, Cindy (Dennis) Scott, Daniel (Laurie) Olliney, Dennis (Theresa) Olliney, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Brenda Frelsi officiating.
