Norma D Hughes, 82, of Casper Wyoming passed away Friday April 24, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. She is now reunited with her daughter Lynda Norris, father Alfred Hughes and mother Gertrude Hughes who all preceded her in death.
Norma was born June 23,1937 in North Platte, NE which is where she resided through her school age years. Soon afterwards Norma had the chance to move many different places around the world and experience many adventures before calling Casper, WY her home. Norma is most remembered by being the founder and CFO of Shamrock Accounting Service, Inc. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Norma saw a whole different side of this beautiful
lady. Her clients weren't just clients and employees weren't disposable they were all family. She was never too busy to share her knowledge or open her huge heart to anyone in need. Many of her employees had never been in the field of accounting before but were given a chance and trained personally by Norma. Many of her clients became lifelong friends that she looked forward to seeing and conversing with season after season.
It wasn't all work and no play for Miss Norma though. She did enjoy taking company trips after the season with all the employees of Shamrock Accounting Service for some much needed pampering. She was always making sure that every holiday was celebrated, even the small ones with at least lunch and can't forget the dessert. She loved her western movies and her Louis L'Amour books. On occasion she was even able to sneak away for a girls night out
painting.
Norma is survived by her son Richard H Shaw Jr. of Casper, grandson Richard H Shaw III and his wife Felicia of Casper, granddaughter Angel Shaw Ritcher and her husband Stefan, great-grandson Vahn Ritcher, (unofficially adopted) daughter Colleta Shane her husband Kevin Shane and their son Bryson Baker, (unofficially adopted) granddaughter Meaghan Walker and (unofficially adopted) great-grandchildren Bentley Whitlow, Royce Whitlow and Novaleigh Moore.
Norma D Hughes truly lived life and chased her dreams. Although we are no longer blessed with the presence of this wonderful soul we will hold each and every memory near and dear to our hearts. All who knew Norma knew she was very simple and we would like to honor her wishes and keep it that way so a private memorial will be held at a later date.
