Joan was born on November 13, 1921 and passed peacefully on March 9, 2016.
Joan was a woman who lived the simple life, a good life. She exemplified kindness, lived all of her days to serve others, namely her family, and was a woman of great integrity. Joan was as classy as they come, and as she passed from this side of heaven, to the next, her loved ones grieve her loss and can only hope to model her example in honor of her memory.
Joan met the love of her life when she was a mere 16 years old. A dashing sir, by the name of Wilbur Clark, took her on a single date, and they were married shortly thereafter. They had 3 children, Sandy, Milton, and Sunny Clark, and spent the next 50+ years happily married. Her life companion, and only love, was taken by a rather severe onset of diabetes, and after his death, she spent the last 25 years of her life caring for, and being a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren -- She even had the privilege of meeting her great, great grand daughter before she passed.
To her family, she was the staple of quiet, selfless service--needed, loved, admired and respected by all those who survived her- To include: Her son Milton and daughter Sunny, her four grandchildren (Darrell, Bret, Philip and Sommer), her six great grandchildren (Cara, Carissa, Joseph, Connor, Kellan and Elise) and her only great, great granddaughter (Jordyn).
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Douglas Care Center and Shelie Mobley for the compassionate care they provided for Joan.
