Neva Charlene Dunn, 89, of Casper, Wyoming passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024.
She was the youngest of six children born to Charlie and Jennie Higer on June 20, 1944.
In 1948 she graduated 8th grade in Jewell County, Kansas. She married Merlyn K. Dunn on March 11, 1949 in Mankato, Kansas. They were married 66 years until his passing in 2016. She was a certified nurse's assistant in Thermopolis and Casper. They were extremely involved in their church. She played the piano, and directed and taught vacation bible school. Merlyn and Charlene started congregations in Sheridan, Thermopolis, Worland, Casper, Evansville, and Vista West. Charlene completed many bible correspondence studies. The couple raised four children.
Charlene had a love for horses from her childhood growing up on a farm when she rode her horse to and from school everyday. She supported missionaries across the world. She was a faithful Christian, who loved to study scripture and share the Word of God with others - whether it be neighbors or strangers.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all six of her siblings.
She is survived by her children, Deana Angel (Robert); Carol Dunn; Allen (Sheila) Dunn; and Terry (Debbie) Dunn;11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.
Charlene's visitation is scheduled for 10:30 am on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Basic Fellowship Christian Church, 719 3rd Street, Evansville, Wyoming, 82636; followed by a luncheon at 11:30 am. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with burial at Highland Cemetery.
