Neal Forster

A Gathering of family and friends for Neal Forster (70) will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, Deacon Don Stewart officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Neal died at Central Wyoming Hospice Home, on December 20, 2006, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on October 18, 1936 in Casper, Wyoming, the oldest son of George K. and WilmaDee (Edenfield) Forster. He married the love of his life, Gerradean (Handley) Pollock, on July 24, 1961, in Greeley, Colorado.
Neal graduated from Natrona County High School in 1954 and attended Casper College. He was a member of the Wyoming National Guard for seven years. He started his employment at the age of 17 at the Troy Laundry until 1962 when he became Meter Foreman for the Casper Board of Public Utilities, a position he held for 10 years. He then worked at Lammers Plumbing until he purchased Hiland Brite Spot in 1978.They moved to Douglas in 1985 and managed the Interstate Inn for a short time and was transferred to the Interstate Inn in Casper. In 1989 he and his wife took over the management of the Quail Run Apartments until his retirement in 2003.
Neal was very active in Casper Youth Baseball, coaching the Farm Team, Triple A, and Babe Ruth Teams; and was president of the American Legion Baseball League for one year. He loved all sports: camping, hunting, fishing, horse racing, and especially his beloved Broncos and the Wyoming Cowboys ¬sometimes with the radio ear piece in his ear, his eyes on another game on the TV and reading a book all at the same time. He was a Life member of the Elks Lodge # 1353 in Casper and a 24 year member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1884 in Thermopolis, Wyoming.
Family and friends will truly miss his witty sarcasm and his blunt ways- he just said it like it was! Neal was a very sincere, honest and loyal person to all his family and friends. He opened the door to his home to Gerradean's nephew Don Mlynek and her brother Ron Handley after the death of her sister and father. He raised them as his own.
Neal is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, his mother, brother Alan Forster (Sharon),and sister Carole (Jim) Storer. His daughter Cindy Kay Pollock, sons Gary Forster and companion Lorrie, Bill Pollock and wife Kathy, Jim Forster and wife Beanie.
Grandchildren, Tony Forster and Michelle, Dustin and Trish, Mandy & Tyler Stevenson
