Nancy M. Ettles, 93 of Glenrock, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Shepherd of the Valley Health Care Center, Casper, Wyoming. She was born August 20, 1922 in Seattle, WA to Walter and Gertrude Curtis. Nancy grew up all along the west coast being the step-daughter of a Coast Guard Officer. She met Dale Walbridge at a dance at the Presido and 12 dates and 3 short months later they wed on November 2, 1940. In spite of being a newly wed Nancy was proud to graduate high school in January of 1941. Together they had 3 children, Wally, Judy, and Patty. After WWII the family moved to Wyoming by way of Denver. After a divorce, she met and married Kenny Johnson in 1956, together they had one daughter, Donna. Nancy moved back to Glenrock in 1957 and stayed in Glenrock for the remainder of her life. She married Clarence Ettles in 1978. Nancy worked many years as a waitress and later owned Nancy's Shack in Glenrock. Together Nancy and Clarence enjoyed gardening and raising chickens until Clarence passed away in 1986. The rest of her years she spent adoring her family especially her grandchildren. She loved to read, crochet, knit and even taught stained glass until her eyesight started to fail her. She will be so greatly missed by her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; son, Wally; and her grandson, Little Wally. She is survived by her children, Judy (Jim) Leach, Patty Welch, and Donna (Russ) Southwick; 11 grandchildren, Kenny (Gail) Walbridge, Mikel Walbridge, T.J. (Rose) Fanning, Brenda (Larry) Graham, Shannon (Brien) O'Brien, Frank (Ginny) Browning, Brandon (Kristie) Welch, Lance Welch, Autumn (Jesse) Klemann, Erin Klodt, and Kim (Sam) Kler; 19 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at the Glenrock Senior Center, Glenrock, Wyoming.
