Murray C. Watson, Jr.

June 4, 1942 — December 15, 2019

Murray Clayton Watson, Jr. 77 of Casper, Wyoming passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Central Wyoming Hospice. He was born June 4, 1942 to Murray and Maxine Watson in Austin, Tx. They returned back to the family homestead when he was 2 near Alcova, Wy where he remained his entire life ranching and farming.

He graduated from NCHS in 1961 and received the Dekalb award in FFA, and married his high school sweetheart Mary Rissler on January 29th, 1966. They had two daughters, Becky and Lory. He was married for 24 years before his wife's passing in 1989 a devoted Christian, patriot, husband, father, grandfather and more recently great grandfather.

Aside from the custom farming and ranching he enjoyed various business adventures including an auction ring, feed store, furniture store, steak house, dance hall, and used car lot all in the same building at different times. He was a well worn, hard working cowboy, genuine and old fashioned that instilled in his family Godly values, and the importance of friends and always compassionate to people in need. Murray loved what he did so he always made it fun instead of work, unless you were the dinger. He enjoyed dancing, music and the social time with friends, events like the ranch city parties and sweetwater dances, being ornery keeping the sheriffs on their toes.

When he started having health issues he continued his ranch management expertise in a consulting manner, offering his opinion whether it was solicited or not. One of his opinions was that your lucky if you get one good woman, one good horse, and one good dog in your life, he didn't specify if they were in that order, but he felt blessed that he had all three.

Murray is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Mary Watson.

He is survived by his daughters Becky (Mitchell Griffin) Watson and Lory (Brian) Wing both of Casper; grandchildren, Austyn Watson, Jonah (Hannah) Wing, Cheyenne Watson, Jarett Wing, Dayton Watson, and Virginia Wing; great grand children, Jon Rhett "JR" Wing and Ryland Wing; sisters Margaret Vinot and Thelma Trujillo; numerous nieces and nephews.
