Murray Ross Hageman passed away on Saturday, November 18th in Casper, Wyoming after a short illness at 99 years of age. He was born on August 21, 1918 to William Henry Hageman and Mary Elizabeth (Hacker) Hageman in rural Northern Minnesota near the Mississippi River. He had three siblings: Lloyd Hageman, Fern Coffelt, and Betty Adams.
Ross moved to Iowa as a young man where he worked through the Depression. He met Charlotte Gretchen Scott, and they were married after he returned home from combat duty in WWII.
Ross served in the 1st Armored Division in a Tank Corp from his induction into the Army in May, 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945. Ross was on the invasion of North Africa, Sicily, and Italy.
Ross and Charlotte raised their family in Colorado where they moved in 1955. Ross moved to Casper, Wyoming in 2002 after the death of his wife, where he enjoyed flying model airplanes with the Privateers Model Airplane Club. Ross is survived by his children, Bill Hageman and his wife, Sharon of Colorado, Lee Hageman and his wife, Cathy of Wichita Kansas, and Kay Luben and her husband, Bill of Casper, Wyoming. Ross is also survived by five grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Newcomer Casper Chapel. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 24, 2017 at Newcomer Casper Chapel with interment and military honors to follow at Highland Cemetery.
