It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Muriel English, who left us on January 5, 2024.

Muriel was born in Pierre, South Dakota, during the Great Depression in 1931, the firstborn twin in a family of humble means. Growing up, she and her twin sister faced the challenges of poverty, assuming the role of caregivers to her 4 younger brothers as her parents worked to provide what they could for the family.

In 1950, Muriel married Arlo English, became "Rusty" English, and the two embarked on a 70-year journey together. They Hitchhiked their way to Denver, Colorado, where built a life and welcomed six children. Despite the financial hardships and ineffable life, Muriel (Rusty) displayed peerless strength, love, and acceptance throughout her life.

Tragedy struck early on, as she faced the heartbreak of losing her firstborn, Terry, to cancer at the tender age of 6. Later in life, she endured the pain of bidding farewell to her fourth son, Vince, who succumbed to cancer at 44. Through every trial, Muriel remained a pillar of strength, offering unwavering love and support to her family.

They moved to Casper Wyoming in 1964. In addition to co-owning Wyoming Sign Company and Rusty's Engraving with her husband until 2012, she loved working with people as a compassionate healer, providing holistic and alternative concepts to healthy lifestyles such as Foot Reflexology, Yoga and Diet. She also worked at Shephard of the Valley Nursing Home as the Activities Director in the '70s, pioneering these healthy lifestyles to the elderly.

Muriel was a nurturer, providing comfort to all who crossed her path. Her unconditional acceptance and tenacious love continually created a haven for her family and friends. Her arms open wide, her heart even wider, there wasn't a soul she met that didn't feel the comfortable warmth of her love. - Always accepting, never judgmental.

Muriel was a living testament to the power of resilience and the strength of the human spirit. She embraced life with grace, finding joy in the simplest moments. Her lack of materialism showcased her contentment with the bare minimum and her ability to find fulfillment in love and connection.

Muriel was preceded in death by her Husband, Arlo, her daughter Terry Gwendolyn, son, Vincent Jay, Her mother and father, Frances and L.W. Hosking, her twin sister Eileen Piercy, and 2 brothers, Gary and Doug.

Survivors include:
