Mona Swingholm, 90, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2013 at her son's home in Salt Lake City Utah with family and Hospice attending.
Mona was born August 10, 1922 in Holly, Colorado to James O. Sutherland and Inez Chambers Sutherland. She married Floyd James (C.) Swingholm in 1942. After the end of the war they lived in Riverton before moving to Casper about 1950. Mona is survived by her sons, Ronald Lafe Swingholm (Louise) and Floyd James Swingholm (Marcy); brother Chester Arthur Sutherland; 5 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd C. Swingholm; her parents; siblings Dean Sutherland, Effie Addie Sutherland, Eugene Sutherland, Oma Mae Muchler-Wells, Naomi Nebel, George Sutherland, Jim Sutherland, Inez Bagley; and grandson Lafe Arthur Swingholm.
Services will be held Monday June 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 710 East Second Street, Casper, Wyoming with John Dykes of the Casper Fifth Ward conducting the brief memorial. Dedication of her gravesite will be at Wyoming Memorial Gardens to be immediately followed by a reception at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center at 3931 W. 45th Street, behind Wal Mart West just off Wolf Creek Road.
