Molly Maki passed away February 12, 2013. She was born the daughter of Elizabeth & George Washenfelder on December 31, 1922, in McCook, Nebraska. Molly attended school in Casper and graduated from Natrona County High School.
On August 23, 1941, Molly married Reuben Maki in Thermopolis, Wyoming. She participated with their children in education and activities, serving as President of the PTA and acting as a Girl Scout Leader. She also participated in community organizations and was a member of Ponderosa Country Club Ladies Golf Association in Truckee, California.
Molly is survived by her husband, Reuben, and children, Judy Ann Conner of Lake Jackson, Texas, Barbara Tolman of Bar Nunn, and Marianne Sommer of Highland Ranch, Colorado. Also surviving include sisters Elizabeth Knapp of Reno, Nevada, and Rose Brummel of Casper, and granddaughters Monica, Cortnie and Britanny.
She was preceded in death by parents Elizabeth and George Washenfelder, brothers, Jake, Johnny, George, Dave and Henry, and sisters Marie Meyer and Lydia Hughs.
At Molly's request, no services are planned. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions to the Natrona County Burn Fund, c/o Casper Fire Department, Station 1, 200 West 1st Street, Casper, WY 82601.
