Misty Dawn Atkins

Misty Dawn Atkins, 46, of Evansville, Wyoming passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2024. Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden death. 

Misty was born on a misty dawn morning on April 3, 1978, to James and Sookie Dugan in Douglas, Wyoming. She was raised in Douglas and graduated from Douglas High School in 1996. She met the love of her life, James Atkins, in 1992 when she was 15 and James was 16. They married in 1998 at the Douglas Courthouse. They lived in Douglas until 2013 when they moved to Evansville. They welcomed to the family three sons, Trentin in 2002, Carson in 2005, and Isaac in 2015. 

Misty was a homemaker; her home was always filled with love and sunflowers. She was a constant source of support for her family, and her love never faltered even when her health was a concern. Her passion for makeup was a testament to her resilience, always finding joy in learning and experimenting. She loved to visit the Dollar Tree and purchase items from Temu. She enjoyed jewelry and sold Papparazi for a time. But above all, her family and friends were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, showing the depth of her relationships. 

Misty was preceded in death by her son, Carson, grandparents Inez Landeroz, Bill and Tess Finley, and cousin Crystal Anthony. She is survived by her loving husband, James, sons Trentin and Isaac, Evansville, parents James and Sookie Dugan, Douglas, brother Lewis Dugan, Douglas, grandmother, Amparo Landeroz, Douglas, in-laws Bill and Joyce Miller, Douglas, Steve Atkins, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and friends. 

Donations to Misty Atkins's memorial fund can be made at Converse County Bank, 322 Walnut St, Drawer 689, Douglas, Wyoming 82633, in her memory. 

Memorial services will be on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at The Gathering Place, 805 East Richards St., Douglas, Wyoming.
