Mindi Joyce Knowles was born February 2, 1967 in Helena, Montana. She was adopted by Vernon (Bud) and Joyce Knowles on March 3, 1967 where she began her life growing up in Great Falls. From that day forward, the Knowles family celebrated not only her birthday, but each year on her adoption day she received flowers. Mindi passed away in Casper, Wyoming on May 21, 2024.
Mindi graduated from Great Falls High in 1985. She completed courses in Nanny Care, Nurse Attendant, Home Health Aide, and Occupational Therapy at Great Falls Vo-Tech Center. She has one son, Josh. They moved to Casper, Wyoming for her first job as an Occupational Therapist. She continued that career for 30 years.
A glimpse into her well-organized craft room shows her love of crafting. She was very capable doing things with her hands, which included working side-by-side with her father in remodeling her home. She created beautiful ceramic pieces she gifted to family and friends. She was an avid walker, enjoyed kayaking, gardening and making jams and jellies to share. She enjoyed traveling and trips to Mexico with niece, Karen and family, and was in the process of planning the next trip at the time of her death. She loved her two cats.
Mindi is survived by her son, Josh, of Casper, brother Randall (Sheryl) Knowles of Great Falls, Montana, sister Lori (Howard) Lorenz of Des Moines, Iowa, 8 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents Vernon (Bud) and Joyce Knowles, partner Rod McKim, brother James Knowles, and nephew-in-law William Dan Harley.
