Milo Galovich passed away Thursday, Febuary 2, 2012 at Sheperd of the Valley Nursing Home from a stroke.
Per Milo's request, there will be no services and cremation has taken place in care of Newcomer Funeral Home. He will rest beside his son's at Highland Cemetery.
Milo was born on July 27, 1929 in Hudson, Wyoming in coal camp number one to Milo and Mildred Galovich. His parents and his sister Violet moved to Thermopolis in 1935. He graduated from highschool in 1948 and during his highschool years was a guard and forward for the Thermopolis Bob Cats and for a short little guy, was a good basketball player. For a year after he graduated highschool, he worked in the oil fields and in 1949 enlisted in the USAF, he was discharged in 1952. In 1956 Milo graduated from the American Barber College and accepted a position in a barber shop in Cheyenne and then moved to Casper, where he worked at the Midway Barber Shop until 1968. He established Milo's Barber Shop and ran it until he retired in 2006.
Milo married his wife Clancy in 1970 and together they faced many heart aches and good times.
Besides barbering, his passion was golf, in the spring and summer, there would often be a sign in the window saying "gone golfing". Milo had many friends and was known for his incredible sense of humor.
Milo is preceded in death by his two beautiful sons, Butch and Fred, his precious little schnauzer Chelsee, his parents, sister and several cousins.
He is survived by his bestfriend and wife Clancy, his precious little schnauzer AbbaGayle, his son Fred's wife Cheryll, his brother-in-law Fred Smith of Rawlins, WY and his family, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as cousins.
Donations directly to the Casper Humane Society would be apperciated in Milo's memory for his love of animals.
