Mike was born & raised in Elkhart, IN, the oldest of 5 children. He graduated from Elkhart High where he was an integral part of the debate team, earning himself a senatorial position in student congress. This is where his love of public speaking began and continued through the rest of his life. He was the 'family orator', whenever we needed someone to speak at an event, Mike stepped up.
He moved with his family in 1967 to Casper, WY, where he attended Casper College. There he demonstrated a love of the theater by performing at the College.
Mike helped build the family business, Teton Homes. In 1987 Mike & Terri moved to California where Mike continued to work in the RV industry and created & designed his Polychute sewer hose.
Mike's creativity came in many forms. The family will always remember his amazing feel for the interpretation of the piano pieces he played. Mike loved to cook. Everyone remembers Mike's ability to create 'something out of nothing' in any kitchen.
His laughter, his insight and his peaceful nature will be dearly missed yet our fondness for him will remain forever in our hearts.
A service will be held in Casper, WY on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home at 12 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Mike's family respectfully requests donations be made in his name to The Betty Ford Center www.bettyfordcenterfoundation.org/donate/ 1-800-854-9211
